To show my appreciation of friends that are doing the damn thing or trying to, I have decided to dedicate the last Friday of each month to my friends and family that have businesses and or side gigs. It will sharing everything from hairdressers to clothing providers. I will feature 3 a month.
Sweetheart Sandals
My friend Toni in Barbados is who I like to call the West Indian Oprah Winfrey. She has in her career, had a magazine, annual fashion show, a weekly column and my favourite in her multi-talented arsenal, Sweetheart Sandals. These are handmade sandals crafted by Toni with local Barbadian leather. I own two pairs but am planning to expand my collection.
I received so many compliments in Rome when I wore these!

Ah Trini Travelogue/Ah Trini Traveller
In order to preserve his anonymity, I will just say my friend who I was introduced to via Facebook is a boss in every sense of the word. Successful in most aspects of his life and married to a woman with a successful board business (to be featured next month), he has traveled the world and shared details of his travels with the world. The Hair Sanctuary
My Manchester homey, Naomi is the owner of two businesses – The Hair Sanctuary, a hair salon with a dedicated clientele and THS Premium Hair Collection (to be featured in another edition Friendship Fridays). Her work has been featured in a number of national hair magazines, editorials and other publications. Her hair colouring has been acknowledged by many. I was super excited to see her as a contestant on UK’s Extreme Hair Wars. I’ve known her for about 5 years (one of the first people I clicked with since moving back to the UK).
